Choosing a Bible translation

Bible front page

A good article on choosing a Bible translation. I preach and teach from the ESV, finding it to have the best balance of formal equivalence and literary merit.

Yet, I would encourage all believers to read and feed on the Word of God daily, even if their choice differs from mine. In my opinion it would be better to regularly read a “poor“* translation than it would be to own a “good” one and never read it.

At the same time, there is value in reading from various translations in order to facilitate understanding.
